I recently read an article that stated 21 of the top ways rich people think differently than average people. At first glance I felt as though the article was very degrading to as they called most people “Average people”. I was always raised to be exceptional in school, not average! So hearing the words ‘Average’ was a rude awakening to say the least and brought up a flood of old buried emotions which I didn’t know I had. After getting over the initial negative feelings about the article I continued to read and realized how incredibly helpful it was. The points made were valid and very useful for someone who would like to break free of the normal day to day survival mentality and adopt a new flourishing and succeeding mentality. Because lets face it, who doesn’t want to lead the life that they have always wanted?? I know that I would love to live in financial freedom. There are 2 points that stuck out to me the most and spiked my curiosity. But first I will tell a story. Recently I was interviewed for Women’s Adventure Magazine, the interview questions were similar to many other interviews I have done in the past but one of them was worded very different. It was along the lines of me following my passion in BASE jumping and Skydiving and where it got me today. This got me thinking about how much potential we all have as humans when we follow our passion. If we found “Work” that we were passionate about would we find ourselves succeeding at a higher or faster rate?? I sat and marinated in that question and then re-read difference #7 on the list:

Average people earn money doing things they don’t love. Rich people follow their passion                             middle class take jobs they don’t enjoy “because they need the money and they’ve been trained in school and conditioned by society to live in a linear thinking world that equates earning money with physical or mental effort.”

What an interesting concept, those who do what they are passionate about or love are not only happier in their job position but they actually make more money!

This brought me to my second favorite out of the 21

#9 Average people believe you have to do something to get rich. Rich people believe you have to BE something to get rich!!!

Be rather then DO! Its such a brilliant concept! Do you remember as a kid when people would ask you what you want to BE when you grew up, they didn’t ask what you want to DO. Somewhere along the line through society and through school we loose that mentality of BE ing and decide we are dooers, I don’t know about you but I want to BE, and I want to thrive while BEing.

So what are the real differences between rich people and the “average” person?… It all comes down to mindset!  The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything. The same is true for people who make the money, they believe they deserve all the good in their life and they are willing to do what it takes to make the life they want by doing something they love.

So are you ready to do what it takes?
