Yesterday I had the pleasure of being interviewed by an incredibly sports psychologist. The purpose of her interview was to incorporate BASE jumping into her new study on athletes who participate in extreme sports, and the psychology behind it. Her goal being to debunk societies view that extreme sports athletes are reckless, dangerous and don’t care about safety or even ultimate survival! The interview was awesome and best of all she is going to share the published version of her findings with me in June and as long as I get her permission I will be posting the findings of…

To be honest a mid winter trip to the east coast is generally not at the top of my list. But let’s face it, I am down for an adventure any time! Although I have been stuck in rain, wind and cold humid temps I was not about to let that impact my mood in a negative way. What does one do in bad weather in a new place? Find a climbing gym and get on the wall!! It was so fun to goof off climb around and hang out with awesome amazing people!

In 2005 on August 11th I drove 2.5 hrs from where I lived to make my first BASE jump. When I arrived I received a few minutes of instruction and headed out to a local 480ft antenna. Melissa Pemberton who had learned to jump a month or so prior came out to watch me make my very first jump. We stayed in touch and made jumps together for about 3 years. After 4 years of both of us running around, playing, jumping and embarking on our own life adventures we reconnected!! So rad to see old friends still doing what…

The winter time for me is always my slow jumping season, the cold weather really gets to me at times and I find myself tucked away, warm in my home! Because I am the kid of person who looks forward to the start of the next jumping season I try my hardest to stay in shape so once the warm weather hits there is no grace period of how hard I charge because I need to get back into shape! In the off season there are several things that I do to stay in shape for hiking and jumping, all…

I have been so stoked recently about the incredible kind of people who have approached me about learning how to BASE jump. The sport brings together all kinds from all different walks of life and it is truly incredible. Over the years I have met some RAD individuals with amazing stories!  I look forward to the many more to come. All I can say is I am excited for the coming months and the awesome oportunity I have to help introduce some sick new people to the sport that I love so much!

Looking up to the people who inspire me. Seeing the people that I have inspired. Don’t be scared to inspire or be inspired… Everyone needs it 🙂 and everyone has it! We all have something to offer! It just depends on if we are to scared to show it! Don’t let fear dictate your future, with out fear the possibilities are endless.

Nutrition and BASE Jumping are two things, which at first, I believed had nothing to do with one another. However over the years I have grown increasingly fond of how proper nutrition contributes to my abilities in the sport! I wish I could say that if I ate an apple then all of a sudden I would acquired super human powers and the ability to huck major flips with incredible precision, but that would be a false statement 😉 Over the years I have encountered painful injuries, debilitating fatigue, lost countless hours of sleep, endured prolonged periods in the car…

I woke up one morning and realized that my job was holding me back… in more ways then one. As much as I’m sure we all enjoy job security when having a typical 9-5 or another variation of such job, I believe that each time we show up to work, each time we think about work and most certainly every time in-between, unless we LOVE our job, a little piece of us diminishes. I enjoyed my job, I worked as a full time nanny. The kids were great… most of the time. The pay was decent, the hours sucked because…
