Every year for the past several years I have put together a shopping list named BASE girls guide to shopping for you adventure woman, or something of the sort! I always included products I loved, used, or wanted. I was never paid to include items. They were always from the heart and useful items. But this year I wanted to do something different. To move away from the insane consumerism that plagues the holiday season. It is so sad to me how much importance is placed on products and things.
I know in my life I value experiences far more than objects. That is not to say that I don’t enjoy gifts and things that make my life and adventures more comfortable or enjoyable. But I have to say that I remember my experience far better and those experiences have had a greater impact on my life and soul than any one product ever has.
So this year I encourage you to go out and explore. Explore with the people that you love. Make memories that don’t include just opening presents and giving/receiving of gifts. Go hike a mountain, Ride down one, Take a walk on a beach, hug a tree (don’t cut one down), Smile. Laugh, Love, Be grateful for what surrounds you, Take in the beauty of nature and take lots of pictures!
